Welcome to the Solution and Support Credit Calculator! This tool helps you determine the number of credits required for various technology support and deployment services. The system is designed to be flexible, allowing you to calculate the total credits needed based on multiple factors including the type of technology, the location of service, the number of hours required, and the type of deliverable.
How It Works
The credit system operates by assigning specific values to each factor involved in delivering a technology service. These factors include:
Technology Type: Each technology has a base credit value associated with it. The more complex the technology, the higher the base credit value.
Location: The location where the service is to be delivered impacts the credit value. For example, services delivered in remote or overseas locations may require additional credits.
Hours Required: The number of hours needed for the service directly contributes to the total credits required. More hours result in more credits.
Deliverables: Different types of deliverables (e.g., initial deployment, documentation, training) have specific credit values. These values reflect the effort and expertise required to produce each deliverable.
There are fixed and variable costs with each engagement. The fixed cost of an engagement can be determined by adding the technology and deliverable base costs together.
Technology Base Credits
Unified Communications - 6
Legacy Route Switch - 4
Software Defined Networking - 6
Security - 8
Commercial Solutions for Classified - 7
Deliverable Base Credits
Initial Deployment - 10
Rebuild/Upgrade - 5
Knowledge Transfer - 10
Documentation - 10
Break/Fix Troubleshooting - 2
Certification Process - 15
Using the above tables, we can determine the fixed costs of a Legacy route switch break/fix troubleshooting engagement will be 6 Credits.
There are two elements for the variable costs for any engagement, location and hours.
Location Rates
CONUS - .6
OCONUS - .8
OCONUS Short Notice - .9
This location rate is multiplied by the number of hours the Solutions Engineer will work on your project and added back to the base rate. Continuing from our earlier example, if the Legacy Route Switch Break/fix troubleshoot is CONUS and takes 10 hours, that would be 6 credits. Those 6 Credits would be added to the base rate of 6 for a total engagement of 12 Credits.
Example Calculations
Let’s walk through a couple of examples to show how the credit calculation works:
Example 1: Unified Communications (UC) Deployment in CONUS
Technology: Unified Communications (UC) - 6 Credits
Deliverable: Initial Deployment - 10 Credit
Location: CONUS (Continental United States) - 0.6 Multiplier
Hours Required: - 30 Hours
Total Credits Required = 6+10 + (30 * .6)
34 Credits
Example 2: Security Assessment in OCONUS with Documentation
Technology: Security - 8 Credits
Deliverable: Documentation - 10 Credits
Location: OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) - 0.8 Multiplier
Hours Required: 40 Hours
Total Credits Required = 8+10 + (40 * .8)
50 Credits
Using the Calculator
The Solution and Support Credit Calculator allows you to input these factors and automatically calculates the total credits required for your project:
Select the Technology: Choose the technology that best represents the service you need.
Select the Location: Choose where the service will be delivered (e.g., CONUS, OCONUS).
Enter the Hours: Input the number of hours required for the service.
Select the Deliverable: Choose the type of deliverable you expect.
If you have multiple services or deliverables, simply click the “+” symbol to add another set of inputs. You can also remove any unnecessary entries by clicking the “−” symbol next to each set.
